PLUS oftewel Picture Licensing Universal System is een cooperative, multi-industriele initiatief. Deze heeft als doel om het categoriseren van licenties van foto's zo simpel mogelijk te maken. Via de PLUS website is het mogelijk om gratis tools te gebruiken om PLUS licenties te lezen met gebruik van een XMP metadata formaat.

Het bestaat uit de volgende onderdelen:
• publishers,
• designers,
• advertising agencies,
• photographers,
• illustrators,
• stock image distributors,
• artist representatives,
• museums,
• libraries and standards bodies, such as UPDIG, IPTC, IDEAlliance and others.
